#NoJunkJourney with Organix | Organix Halloween Frankenstein Toast

In a bid to help parents and children join in with the fun of Halloween, but ditch the junk, Organix has come up with some truly awful treats that are actually good for you. Happy Halloween folks!

Suitable for 12+ months
10-30 minutes to prepare
Under 10 minutes to cook
2 pieces of toast (serves 2 children)

Ingredients

2 open cap mushrooms
A drizzle of vegetable oil for cooking
2 slices of wholemeal bread
½ a large ripe avocado
Squeeze of lemon
½ a large tomato
4 tsps. sesame seeds
4 pumpkin seeds
½ a cucumber
How to make
Step 1

Finely chop the mushrooms, then sauté over a medium heat with a drizzle of oil

Step 2

Toast the bread, then mash a quarter of the avocado onto each slice, adding a tiny squeeze of lemon to stop the avocado going brown

Step 3

Cut the halved tomato in half again, then cut two zig zag mouths from each half, and a triangle nose. Add these onto the avocado toast

Step 4

Place the sautéed mushrooms along the top of the toast to look like Frankenstein hair

Step 5

Then carefully add a teaspoon of sesame seeds for each round eye, adding one pumpkin seed into the centre of each eye as the pupil

Step 6

Finally cut the cucumber into 8 pieces - make 4 of them approx. 3cm x 2cm, and the other 4 approx. 2cm x 1cm. Add these to the sides of the toast at the bottom to make Frankenstein bolts! The smaller batons on the inside, with the larger ones as screws on the outside. Serve immediately

You’ll find lots more no junk spooky recipes created by the cooks at Organix at www.organix.com For lots more recipes and tips to help you and your family enjoy good food and avoid the junk follow #NoJunkJourney.

Collaboration & Giveaway | Zippy Bibs

Having two under two can be hard work, I am always on the look out for things to make my life that little bit easier.

Zippy won gold in the Loved By Parents Awards for its unique all in one zip suits. With their safe, single zip running along the length of the body replacing poppers, the zip suits reduce the time and stress of every change.

Their Beautiful 'In The Night Garden' inspired zip all-in-one makes changing time much easier!
I adore both of my girls in babygrows (as I call them), so I jumped at the opportunity of being able to review a few of their products, perfect for both day or night its super accessible & perfectly cosy.

As soon as I put it on my 18 month old (Leia wears the 12-18 Month suit) it just looked so snug and comfortable, the cuffs were perfect and the added grippers on the feet are brilliant for toddling around.
The best part was clearly the zip up, at this age L tends not to want me to dress her so the zip was less distressing than having to spend what seems like a life time doing up poppers!

The design of the sleepsuit is so pretty and girly, the rainbows are just adorable!

Not forgetting my 12 week old, Kaia, Zippy also sent her a few products to try!

Kaia is a massive dribbler, she constantly dribbles so dribble bibs are a must, we go through so many! I think dribble bibs make an outfit, do you agree?

Kais tried the 'cute baby hippos' (heart melts) & the 'light pink polka dot' bandana bibs.

The bandana bibs are both stylish and super absorbent, both lasting a good few hours which is a winner in my house.

We have had lots of comments about the hippo one! I will add I have since been browsing Zippys website and have a few things to purchase now (I've warned you!). I love both girls in stripes & have spotted a beautiful pink striped one which is on Kaia's christmas list!

The selection of bibs they stock is beyond anything I have seen, trust me if you have a little and love dribble bibs there WILL be something you'll have to have!

We also received a beautiful vintage rose muslin which is super soft & snuggly!

As part of our collaboration, I have £20 credit to spend on Zippy Bibs website for one of my viewers / readers.

Holiday Party Collection | Yankee Candle Press Event London

Yesterday we were invited down to the Yankee Candle Press launch to view their newly released holiday party collection!

Hosted by the lovely Hillgate PR we headed in to SoHo & arrived at 15 Bateman Street

The first thing we noticed on arrival to the venue was how festive it smelt! It was delicious, a candle lovers heaven!

The venue was transformed & perfectly decorated with candles in every corner, handmade macaroons by Patisserie Valerie & a spicy orange juice drink which was delicious!

A Yankee Candle specialist was on hand all day to guide us through the new collection and explained the gorgeous venue aroma was a candle from the new collection 'All Is Bright' (one of which we got to take home with us).

My personal favourite from the collection was the classic Macaron Treats, sweet as can be and lighter than air with notes of vanilla, almond & of course, sugar!

For citrus lovers, the Star Anise & Orange is wonderfully refreshing & perfect for autumnal evenings and is next on my ever-growing list of purchases from Yankee Candle!

We had a brilliant time at the event, it has really put us in the mood for the festivities to begin!

You can view the new collection here.

Do you have a favourite candle?

Clif Bars | Product Review & Giveaway

I had Kaia ten weeks ago and up until now have been totally uninspired to loose the baby weight! I gained not even a stone but I am really keen to loose it by not wanting to diet! I know not possible but I have a massively sweet tooth!
Clif bar kindly sent me a selection of their bars to try out to give me some inspiration!

Made with organic rolled oats, a source of protein & fibre & no high fructose they are the tastiest health bars I have tried so far!

With a massive selection of flavours there is something there for everyone, my favourite is the white chocolate macadamia which went in the first two days, I even had to head out to Holland and Barrett to buy some more!
Clif bars are a great post work out snack with vitamins B6 & B12 to contribute to the normal release of energy

My other half preferred the coconut chocolate chip flavour and has replaced snacking throughout the day with these!

These are my new favorite mummy snack for the changing bag - I always have an emergency stash for when I am out and about & at only 256 calories a bar are the perfect little treat!

Day in the life with two girls under two 05/10/2016 | Rebecca Hollick

Day in the life with two under two 05/10/2016

My life seems to be flying by with my two babies - I want to document as much as I can, plus I love hearing what everyone's days look like.
Here's what we did today, chronologically.

6:30am Kaia wakes up making cute noises in the moses basket, she is happy to be snuggled back to sleep for a couple of hours.

8.20am Kaia wakes up for a feed & change, we do this downstairs with daddy too

9am I clean, so hoover all of downstairs first in case Leia wakes up so she can crawl on the floor. Do any washing up, clean the sides, cupboards, bring out the recycling. Bleach the toilet!

10am Leias awake, give her a bottle, change, clean teeth, wash face
11am Bath Leia, play, watch tv. Reply to blog emails.

12 Kaia agrees to a mini photo shoot for organic brand Bambini & Me
1pm Leias lunchtime, Kaias feed - shes on 9oz currently.

3pm Both girls nap - check emails, tidy away from lunch, do the recycling / bins, have a cup of tea & lunch

5pm Watch tv, start settling down for the night, bottles, brush girls teeth, change for bed

7.30pm Kaia starts to get sleepy, falls asleep by 8pm snuggling in to her pretty little polka dot dummy clip and JoJo mouse comforter - she cant decide which she prefers!

8pm Kaia goes in the moses basket

9pm The apprentice!

10pm Leia falls asleep after a banana & a chocolate ice cream!

I love having my girls pretty much on the same routine, makes mummy life SO much easier.

What is your daily routine?

Benefits of Bamboo | Bambini & Me

About Bambini & Me
A new unique & funky clothing expert, focusing on 100% sustainable bamboo baby products
Bambini & Me was founded by mum of four Melissa whilst on holiday in Thailand, she spotted a super soft pair of baby pyjamas that felt beautiful. Melissa fell in love with the fabric & bought the idea of bamboo clothing to life becoming Bambini & Me!

More about bamboo
Bamboo plants absorb around 5 times more carbon dioxide & produce around 35% more oxygen than most other trees & some variations can grow up to 1 metre a day!

Other benefits
It is anti-bacterial & anti-fungal
Helps absorb moisture away from the skin
More breathable than cotton
Helps towards tempreture control

It also requires zero chemicals to grow & once fully established a bamboo tree can be harvested every year meaning that it is 100% sustainable!

Bamboo for Baby | Bambini & Me

Since having Kaia my perspective on ensuring the products we are using are gentle has changed somewhat.
Being a second time mum in the space of a really quick 16 months I have to say while pregnant I was totally expecting the girls to be the same in terms of their skincare needs. I can't believe how wrong I was.
My eldest baby Leia has mildly sensitive skin, usually the slight red cheeks possibly due to teething.
We first noticed the sensitivities Kaia had a few weeks in. I have a feeling it was due to the washing liquid we were using, although I always go for the non-bio type, I am a product switcher and not loyal when it comes to a specific brand in supermarkets.

I found out about the multi award winning Bambini & Me when browsing for organic baby clothes. Lots of the high street stores promote organic baby wear but I love knowing where the clothes we buy come from and are a little more unique.
I love luxury but do not want to pay premium prices for clothes she will only be in momentarily.

Bambini & Me ethically source & produce the most beautiful organic bamboo baby products.

Created by a mummy of four, Bambini & Me products are 100% sustainable, perfect for sensitive skin & more breathable than cotton.

We were sent a selection of products to put to the test, all truly soft & made from a skin friendly bamboo blend. Firstly a short sleeve bodysuit with no label to prevent irritation. This was the first thing Kaia tried on and I have to say first impressions were that it is so soft! Absolutely beautiful on and feels amazing!

The blossom romper we tried followed the same trend, perfectly beautiful, truly soft, complete with poppers all the way up the legs for easy changing.
The bamboo swaddle in blossom is pure luxury, soft for baby to hold & looks gorgeous in the pram or car seat for extra warmth.
The clothing & swaddle really are beautiful, I am hoping the pictures showcased have done them justice. The softness, I'm afraid you will have to experience for yourselves!
The clothing would be perfect for travel, everything just feels so cozy & comfortable! Now if only they did these for adults!
I have been browsing through their other products & we have lots to add to our ever growing Christmas wish list!

You can view the full range of products from Bambini & Me here.

Daddy Does Date Night #ad | Channel Mum Challenge

This weekend we enjoyed a wonderful date night courtesy of Iceland!

The lovely's over at Channel mum challenged the channel 'dad's' to wine & dine their partners using the new luxury frozen range from Iceland. You can check out the other date night videos here.
We headed down to Iceland and the other half picked what was the most amazing home cooked meal.

Surf 'N' Turf consisting of 2 sizeable fillet steaks & 4 huge whole king prawns! This cost just £10 which we were shocked at, you all know the price of a fillet steak and for the weight you would be lucky paying that for one steak, let alone the rest!

We opted for a classic side dish in our house - lobster! We love Iceland's Canadian whole lobster & make regular trips to Iceland just for that. It is exceptional value for money at just £6.

The meal was simply delicious, the steak cooked to perfection and succulent. Put it this way - I've eaten fillet steak in many high end restaurants and this gave them a run for their money.

Keeping with the theme the prawns were beautifully flavored and as usual the lobster was a massive hit.
On to dessert - the boy did well in choosing the 'Pot Au Chocloat' (chocolate pots) right up my street, you can't go wrong with anything containing chocolate!
We had a great evening in - putting the babes to bed early and what felt like being in a restaurant at home!

Thank you to Iceland & Channel Mum!

You can check out Iceland's new luxury frozen range here.

What's your perfect date night?

The Aurora Mint Teething Necklace by Mama & Belle

I don't know what it is about the name Aurora but anything with that in the title makes me intrigued.

I love the name & it just reminds me of watching the clarks advert where the girl was in an enchanted forest and had a locket on her shoe!

The Aurora Mint teething necklace by Mama & Belle is perfectly named. The first thing I thought when I opened it is that it actually looks enchanting & magical!
The gorgeously designed hexagon shaped beads include Mama & Belle's brand new rose-gold & marble beads. They literally remind me of treasure!

The necklace is the perfect addition to any jewellery collection but is clearly multi functional for mummy & baby!
Both Leia & Kaia are constantly pulling on my hair (owch) or grasping my top (Kaia especially).

With gift boxes available at checkout these are the perfect baby shower gift, or as a little treat for yourself  the perfect solution for keeping little hands busy.

The necklaces are made from high quality, BPA free, food grade silicone, feature a breakaway clasp for added safety & help develop tactile awareness.

Leia LOVES mummy's new toy, she literally wants to take the necklace from me! My new little distraction toy for her not to pull my hair!
I have really been enjoying wearing the necklace & cant wait to add to our (my) collection!
You can view the beautiful collection here.
